A Cacao Ceremony is essentially a marriage ceremony, as it harmonizes the masculine and feminine energies within the body. This heart-opening ceremony restores balance within the physical and subtle bodies, and as our hearts open, we become more aware of our innate treasures and gifts.
Please join us with a heart-centered intention in mind. Together, we will journey and enjoy cacao while Nina shares the rich history and lore of the Goddess of Chocolate, IxCacao, as well as the nature of ceremonial cacao.
Nina will then lead us on a meditative journey while, Evanye facilitates the Holotropic breathwork experience.
Holotropic Breathwork is an active meditation using the in and out breath to induce a trance state of euphoria. The breathing is fast paced allowing for old wounds to heal and the heart to open up, making space for more peace, stillness, and grace
You will rebirth yourself anew and discover any latent talents and innate gifts unique to your individual Being.

There are a few contraindications with breathwork:
-Pregnant- If you are in the 1st or 2nd trimester, breathwork can lower or increase oxygen and blood pressure levels that may not support the baby. 3rd trimester can be safer with modified breathing.
-Asthma- breathwork can support asthma and it can agitate the feeling of losing/catching your breath, so participate at your risk and check with your health care provider first.
-Psychosis- breathwork can initiate a temporary hallucinatory experience for most. If you are prone to hallucinations that interfere with your basic functioning, please talk to your mental health provider before engaging.

Please Note!
There are some contraindications with Cacao to be aware of:
-Prescription Anti-depressants: Those who use MAO inhibitors to treat depression are contraindicated with chocolate. Check your medications and with your doctor prior to this gathering.
-Serious Heart Conditions: Cacao increases heart rate and is a vasodilator. Please be mindful if you have a serious heart condition.
-Pregnant or breastfeeding: Please request a lower dosage, sitting in ceremony is sometimes enough. Consult your doctor, midwife, or doula for more information.
-Pets: dogs, parrots, horses and possibly others can’t digest chocolate/cacao; it can be fatal.
